Making A Positive Impact

At Marathon Consulting, we know the importance of giving back. Many of our employees, including all the company owners, are long-time residents of the Hampton Roads and Richmond Virginia regions, and we are dedicated to supporting local organizations that are making a positive difference in the communities where we live and work.

One of our most notable charitable partners is The King's Daughters. In 1961, the organization founded the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters (CHKD) and their mission is to support CHKD through fundraising, volunteerism, leadership, and advocacy.

Marathon has been a long-time participant and sponsor of their signature event, the CHKD RunWalk for the Kids, and we have proudly been the presenting sponsor of this amazing event since 2013. Each year our employees, family members and friends join together as Team Marathon to participate in raising awareness and funds to support CHKD. 

Why do we support the RunWalk? We show up, we run, and we walk because we all know someone - maybe a neighbor, a friend or colleague, or even our own children - that has found hope, care, and improved health because of the excellent medical services that CHKD provides. With the support of the King's Daughters and the community, CHKD can continue to provide children and their families with access to state of the art equipment, the best medical professionals, and top-notch health programs. We are proud to have recently partnered with the Children's Hospital Foundation in Richmond whose mission is to support and raise funds for the Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU. They completed their new Children's Tower in 2023, and we were able to put together and deliver activity bags for various age groups of children who are staying at the hospital.

Marathon supports our future leaders through Junior Achievement, the nation's largest organization dedicated to teaching young people how to make smart academic and economic choices.

Each year, Marathon Consulting employees volunteer for "JA Day" to teach elementary kids valuable business skills. It's a fun, hands-on opportunity to share knowledge, encourage curiosity, and instill confidence in our community's children, contributing to a brighter tomorrow and preparing them for success in life.
