Marathon Q3 Milestone Anniversaries 2018

Jason Vickers – 5 Years 

Jason joined Marathon in the summer of 2013 as a web application developer. He quickly joined Marathon’s growing Digital Marketing team working on large-scale websites and e-commerce projects. His background as a full-stack developer made him a perfect fit for the team, and he is just as adept with back-end development, as he is with the front-end. Jason became an Umbraco Certified developer in 2015 and has since given talks both within Marathon and at related User Groups on the topic. He also authored the article on this blog titled: Migrating Your Website to Umbraco CMS. 

Jason proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and holds a Bachelor of Science from ECPI. Jason loves the outdoors, especially when he’s spending time with his dogs, Mojo and Mollie.

 

Tony Cortinas
President

Tony serves as president and is one of the co-founders of Marathon Consulting. An experienced leader with over 25 years in Information Technology, Tony guides day-to-day operations and is responsible for driving growth and strategic initiatives for the organization. Tony earned his BBA in Information Technology from the College of William and Mary and began his career in networking before moving into application and web development.

In 2006, he and 3 other founders started Marathon Consulting to fulfill a need for quality IT services in the mid-Atlantic region. During that time, he oversaw marketing and finance for the organization, as well as led the Digital Marketing department. Tony successfully grew the team by over 500%, spearheaded the addition of search engine optimization (SEO) and paid advertising service offerings, and has been instrumental in expanding Marathon's reach and client base across the country.

Tony's passion for leveraging technology is a driving force to bring innovation and value to clients across many industries.

Ben Ricks

Ben Ricks is Vice President of Marathon Consulting and oversees our technical teams. He is a leading expert in web-based and client/server applications and relies on a broad range of development tools and leading data base management systems like Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.

Ben began in the IT industry at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and then spent time at Keane, Inc. Throughout his career, he’s worked with clients in industries including education, energy, advertising, tourism, healthcare, communications and manufacturing. Ricks also holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

A native of Franklin, Virginia, Ricks graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Accounting and Computer Information Systems.
