Marathon Consulting Announces Team Additions – 2025 Q2

Virginia Beach, VA. – Marathon Consulting, LLC, a Virginia-based Information Technology Consulting and Digital Marketing firm, today announced a recent expansion resulting in the addition of 10 team members. All of the new team members are assigned to clients local to Marathon offices and across the U.S.

The new employees include the following individuals:

Leigh J. – Leigh is an experienced IT professional with over 30 years in technology, specializing in web development, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps. He brings extensive expertise in LAMP/LEMP stacks, WordPress, PHP, C#, and cloud platforms like Azure and AWS. Known for designing scalable systems and mentoring development teams, Leigh has led projects ranging from complex insurance platforms to remote infrastructure migrations. His background includes roles in consulting, technical support, and full-stack development across both enterprise and small business environments. Leigh is a valuable addition to the Digital Marketing team where he is assigned to the nation’s leading provider of foundation repair.

Cheryl M. – Cheryl is an accomplished Data Science Architect and Analyst with over two decades of experience delivering innovative data solutions that streamline operations and drive business value. With deep expertise in SQL, Power BI, Power Platform, Oracle, and ERP systems, Cheryl specializes in developing data models, dashboards, and automation tools that enhance organizational efficiency and decision-making. Cheryl will be joining Marathon Consulting on strategic client focused projects.

Matt B. – Matt is a results-driven Full Stack Developer with deep expertise in cloud-based microservices, frontend development, and enterprise system integration. Proficient in Microsoft Azure, React, Blazor, and SQL, he also brings strong experience in SharePoint development designing custom web parts and supporting major implementations for enterprise clients. Matt is skilled at automating workflows, integrating systems like NetSuite, and building scalable solutions that enhance both user experience and operational efficiency.

Sebastian H. – Sebastian is a skilled Data Analytics and Reporting Specialist with expertise in SQL, Python, Power BI, and SSRS, and a strong background in banking and financial services. He has led end-to-end report development, driven the migration from SSRS to Power BI, and automated report delivery processes to boost efficiency. With experience in Agile environments including serving as interim Scrum Master—Sebastian excels in data visualization, dashboard design, and business analysis that will help on strategic Marathon client needs.

Luke W. – Luke is a recent graduate from William & Mary’s Raymond A. Mason School of Business, with a Master of Science (MSBA) where he’s honed his skills in Python, R, SQL, and data visualization. With a foundation in business management from Virginia Commonwealth University and hands-on experience in data-driven roles, Luke brings a strong blend of technical expertise and communication skills. In his role as Business Development Manager at Osprey Drone Services, he analyzed multispectral imagery, developed data warehouses, and presented complex findings to diverse audiences. Luke is passionate about transforming data into actionable insights and is eager to contribute meaningfully during his Data Analytics internship where he will be joining the Data Solutions team in Richmond, VA.

Paul N. – Paul joined Marathon in May 2025 as an Information Technology Summer Intern at the corporate headquarters where he will be working on an IT project to help a regional non-profit better serve its constituents to combat food insecurity in the greater Hampton Roads area. Paul is a Computer Science student at William & Mary, with an associate’s degree from Virginia Peninsula Community College. Passionate about application development, Paul is skilled in C++ and Python, and has completed coursework in data structures, algorithms, discrete math, and object-oriented programming. He brings a collaborative spirit and a commitment to building meaningful, user-focused applications.

Michael C. – Michael joined Marathon in May 2025 as an Information Technology Summer Intern at the corporate headquarters where he will be working on an IT project to help a regional non-profit better serve its constituents to combat food insecurity in the greater Hampton Roads area. Michael is a Computer Science student at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) with a focus on application development and software engineering. Proficient in Javi, Kotlin, Swift, Python, and .NET. He is an active member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) and Data Structures & Algorithms Club, where he collaborates with peers on technical projects and professional development.

Mohamed O. – Mohamed joined Marathon in June 2025 as a Data Solutions Consultant. He’s a seasoned Data Architect and Engineer with deep expertise in data warehousing, business intelligence, and advanced data modeling. With over 15 years of experience across Azure, AWS, and major database platforms, he excels at designing scalable data solutions that deliver actionable insights. Mohamed is highly skilled in ETL/ELT development, Data Vault 2.0, and BI tools like Power BI and SSRS, consistently bridging the gap between technical implementation and strategic business goals. Mohamed is assigned to a leading regional financial client in the greater Hampton Roads area.

Shawn Q. – Shawn joined Marathon in June 2025 as a Senior Business Technology Consultant with over two decades of experience leading software quality assurance and test management across federal agencies including the IRS, Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Department of Defense. He specializes in automation and manual testing, systems integration, and Agile project delivery. Shawn holds multiple certifications, including SAFe Agilist, ISTQB, and CMST, and has a proven track record of optimizing testing operations, mentoring cross-functional teams, and driving enterprise-level technology initiatives with measurable results. Shawn is assigned to a large nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the educational needs of professionals.

Thomas "TJ" B. – TJ Joined Marathon in June 2025 as an Information Technology Consultant. In 2024 he was selected to join Marathon as a standout Computer Science intern where he quickly adapted to the technology stack leveraged to successfully collaborate on a not-for-profit, public facing community give back project. While at the College of William & Mary he has been the Technical Interview Prep Chair for the Computer Science Club (ACM), President of the Clay Target Club, Member of Phi Gamma Delta, Member of the Order of Omega Honor Society, has traveled abroad to Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland and is an Eagle Scout. We are looking forward to having him on the Digital Marketing team.
