Willcox & Savage SharePoint Portal Implementation
Willcox & Savage is a full-service law firm with two offices located in southeastern Virginia. While their roots have been deeply planted in this community since 1895, they enjoy relationships with local, regional, national, and international clients. To facilitate the future integration with their document retention and security application, Marathon was asked to install and configure SharePoint 2010.
Solution
Marathon designed and implemented a SharePoint 2010 intranet portal structure to host site collections for Human Resources, Information Technology, and each of the litigation groups within the firm. Additionally, a site collection plan was implemented to lay out the proposed and future implementation of the web application mapping. Training was conducted on industry best practices for creating and managing site growth; future integration points and extended capabilities with Exchange, K2 Black Pearl, MS Project, etc.; and data retention management.
Features
- SharePoint 2010 intranet portal with a focus on customized layout, as well as master and sub-page designs to integrate with existing internet pages.
- SharePoint design structure and active directory group management to map site collection mapping to firm hierarchy to increase the efficiency and usability of document security.
- Custom web part solution for displaying list-controlled news articles on the main page.
- Assistance with integration of third-party conference room resource management software with SharePoint 2010.
