Marathon Consulting Honored as a 2024 Best Place to Work in Virginia

Marathon Consulting, LLC, a Virginia-based Information Technology Consulting and Digital Marketing firm, was recently named as one of the 2024 Best Places to Work in Virginia. The annual list of the top 100 companies awarded Best Places to Work in Virginia was created by Virginia Business Magazine and Best Companies Group.

Vice President Tom Marsden and Senior Corporate Recruiter Katie Keene attended the awards ceremony on February 1, 2024 at the Boar's Head Inn in Charlottesville, Virginia, celebrating the esteemed 2024 winners, which included a number of Marathon's clients.

Marathon was recognized as a multi-year winner, this being the company's 10th year as a Best Places to Work in Virginia award recipient, with a ranking of 10th place in the midsize employer category (100-249 employees) for 2024.

This statewide survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in Virginia, benefiting the state's economy, workforce, and businesses. The 2024 Best Places to Work in Virginia list is made up of 100 Virginia companies selected from over 200 applicants and divided into 3 categories: small, midsize, and large.

To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:  

• Be a for-profit business, not-for-profit business, or government entity; 
• Be a publicly or privately held business;
• Have a facility in the state of Virginia;
• Have at least 15 employees working in the state of Virginia; and
• Be in business a minimum of 1 year.

Award recipients are ranked based on a 2-part survey process. Nominated companies are first assessed on their workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics – these results are worth 25% of the evaluation. The second portion of the process consists of an anonymous employee survey designed to measure the overall employee experience – this contributed to 75% of the evaluation. These combined scores were used to determine the top companies and their final rankings. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Virginia, analyzed the data, and used their expertise to determine the final rankings.

The final rankings were announced during an in-person awards luncheon held on Feb. 1, 2024, at the Boar’s Head Inn in Charlottesville, Virginia.
