Marathon Consulting Honored with Award in 2024 Foodbank Hunger Heroes Competition

Virginia Beach, VA. - Marathon Consulting, LLC, a Virginia-based Information Technology Consulting and Digital Marketing firm, was recently awarded 1st place in the large company category of the 2024 Hunger Heroes Food and Fundraising Competition to support the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore.

Each summer, foodbanks faces the challenge of the "summer meal gap." This is a time when donations drop off, but costs and demand rise when schools are out and children do not have access to school meals. The Hunger Heroes food and fundraising competition is held each summer to increase awareness of these challenges and inspire individuals and organizations in the community to step up and participate in supporting our neighbors who are facing food insecurity.

Marathon has been a dedicated supporter of the Foodbank for many years, and this is their 6th year participating as "Hunger Heroes." The organization contributed food donations, funds, and volunteer hours over the summer that helped provide over 20,000 meals for members of the community.

Marathon's Tom Marsden won the contest for "Best Solo Costume" with his branded Hunger Heroes cape, and several of Marathon's leadership team donated time volunteering with The Gathering at Scott Memorial UMC Food Pantry, aka Fresh Food Wednesday, a Foodbank partner offering a drive-through evening food pantry that serves those who work during the day but are still experiencing food insecurity.
