Marathon Consulting the Presenting Sponsor of the 12th CHKD Annual RunWalk For The Kids

Marathon Consulting, LLC, a Virginia Beach-based provider of Information Technology and Digital Marketing solutions, was once again the presenting sponsor for the 12th Annual RunWalk for the Kids to benefit Children's Hospital of The Kings Daughters. The event took place May 13th with approximately 2,500 participants and 250 volunteers at the new Waterside Live venue in Downtown Norfolk. The event features 3 races - an 8k Run, 2 Mile Walk, and 1 Mile Fun Run. The funds raised will support CHKD’s Sports Medicine Program.

Lisa Coleman, Executive Director of The King’s Daughters, said, “Despite the blustery wet day, the 12th annual RunWalk for the Kids presented by Marathon Consulting, to benefit CHKD, was filled with warm hearts, passionate participants and smiling faces, many with great testimonies of how CHKD has helped them, their children, their families, and community. Events like this would not be possible without the kind and generous corporate support we are so fortunate to receive.” She continued, “The camaraderie that morning kept our spirits high, as runners ran in the pouring rain on a new beautiful 8K course through Historic Ghent. The 2 and 1-mile walkers still came out over 1,000 strong – the sun came out just enough that we were all able to celebrate our accomplishment that morning, giving high fives at the finish line in the New Waterside District – our Race venue area. A big shout out to the almost 2,500 participants, 250 volunteers, and the corporate support for making another successful event possible for CHKD and the children of our community.”

The not-for-profit hospital never turns any child away. Last year children made more than 500,000 visits to CHKD caregivers as inpatients and outpatients for routine and complex illnesses, injuries, and chronic conditions.
